Surveillance is the core skill behind almost every investigation we run. Whether the case involves a suspected affair, a workers’ compensation claim, a custody dispute, or a business matter, the same discipline applies: document what actually happens, legally and discreetly, in a form that holds up when someone else has to rely on it.
Mobile and Static Surveillance
Mobile surveillance follows a subject as they move through their day — to and from work, appointments, meetings, or other locations relevant to the case. Static surveillance holds position at a single location, such as a residence or job site, to document who comes and goes and what activity takes place there. Most cases use a combination of both, depending on what needs to be confirmed.
Staying Inside the Law
California allows surveillance in public places and anywhere there is no reasonable expectation of privacy. Our investigators are trained to work within those boundaries on every case — evidence gathered improperly is not just an ethical problem, it is often inadmissible, which defeats the purpose of hiring an investigator in the first place.
What You Receive
A written report with a timeline of observed activity, supported by time-stamped photo and video evidence. For cases headed to court or a family law proceeding, we can also provide investigator testimony.
Common Surveillance Cases
Infidelity and divorce support, child custody and parenting-time compliance, workers’ compensation and disability fraud, insurance claims, and business matters such as employee misconduct or non-compete violations.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How long does a surveillance case usually take?
- It depends on the subject’s schedule and what you need confirmed. Some cases resolve in a single evening; others require observation across several days or weeks to catch the relevant activity. We’ll give you a realistic estimate after the initial consultation.
- Will the subject know they’re being watched?
- Our investigators are trained in covert surveillance specifically so the subject does not know. That discretion is part of what you’re paying for — a surveillance operation that tips off the subject usually ruins the case.
- What equipment do you use?
- Standard surveillance equipment: long-lens cameras and video, and GPS tracking only where legally permitted. We do not use methods that cross into illegal wiretapping, trespassing, or device tampering.
- Can surveillance evidence be used in a California court?
- Yes, when gathered legally. We document the date, time, and circumstances of every observation so the evidence can be authenticated and, if needed, supported by investigator testimony.
